About Mansfield, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Mansfield, Illinois is a Piatt County, Illinois village with approximately 875 residents. Named for Civil War officer John Mansfield, this historic community is situated in almost the center of the state. Mansfield is 17 miles northwest of Champaign, and it is a 35-mile drive southwest of Bloomington along Interstate 74.
With only a few hundred people living here, Mansfield isn’t home to any major tourist attractions. However, the Mansfield General Store is found here, and it serves as one of the community’s claims to fame. The store was constructed in 1895, and it is the oldest general store in Illinois history. Other noteworthy destinations in the community include Three-Toad Treasures, a local antique shop, and Stone Ridge Dairy Farm. Visitors and residents searching for larger attractions and cultural opportunities need only to take a short, 20-minute drive to Champaign to broaden their horizons.
Mansfield area weather varies with the season, which is typical for a humid continental climate zone. A cool and rainy spring will lead into a hot, humid summer. Average high temperatures are in the mid-80s, but thermostat readings into the 90s are also possible. Appropriate climate controls are a wise investment for many residents, as these systems will ensure interior conditions stay cool. Plus, the right central air conditioner will improve indoor air quality while keeping cooling costs affordable.
After a hot summer comes a pleasant autumn season, although this time of the year is rainy. The autumn months are an ideal time to service a home’s gas or electric furnace for the upcoming winter. Temperatures tend to stay cold, with average daily highs only reaching the 30s. Low temperatures overnight often fall below freezing, which can be dangerous. The right furnace is an irreplaceable investment, and HVAC technicians can help residents to choose the system that will work best for their property.
