About Rantoul, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Rantoul, Illinois is a growing village found in Champaign County. Originally laid out as part of the Illinois Central Railroad in 1854, Rantoul was later selected by the U.S. Army to be the site for Chanute Field. Later called Chanute Air Force Base, this post closed in 1993, but many residents have still remained in the community. Currently, over 12,800 people reside in Rantoul, and today, one of the largest employers is the Rantoul City School District.

There are several things to see and do in Rantoul, with attractions for the entire family. Hardy’s Reindeer Ranch is a popular destination for animal lovers, while the Rantoul Theater Group offers musical, comedic, and dramatic live entertainment. The Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum offers a glimpse at former military aircraft, and visitors who’d prefer a more localized history lesson might like to stop at the Rantoul Historical Society. Residents from many of the surrounding communities travel into Rantoul for a delicious meal, as restaurants including Taste of Thai, Agave, and Rantoul Public House call the community home.

The weather conditions of Rantoul vary significantly throughout the year. Summers here have temperatures in the mid-80s, and high humidity is common. This mugginess can make it feel even more uncomfortable, sending residents indoor to beat the heat. Central air conditioning is crucial at this time, and HVAC professionals suggest that residents use the pleasant spring months as a time to have their existing units serviced.

An energy-efficient gas or electric furnace is a necessary investment in Rantoul during the winter months. In addition to keeping homes warm, these systems will ensure utility costs stay affordable throughout the season. Snowfall is moderate, and overnight lows often fall below freezing. This can result in dangerous conditions both indoors and outdoors. Adequate climate controls are needed to keep residents safe regardless of outdoor weather conditions.
