About Thomasboro, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Thomasboro, Illinois is a village found in Champaign County. It was originally named for pioneer settler John Thomas, and as of 2010 over 1,100 people called the community home. The village recently celebrated its sesquicentennial, with over 150 years of history related to the railroad. Thomasboro is situated 11 miles north of Champaign and 55 miles southeast of Bloomington.

The small village of Thomasboro isn’t home to any major attractions, although there are some noteworthy businesses here. Residents in need of a night out might like to check out Central Tavern. Thomamsboro Grocery, Casey’s General Store, and Casey’s Carry Out Pizza are some of the most popular places in the community to grab a bite to eat. Other local businesses include Busey Bank and some automotive repair shops.

Larger attractions are located a quick 10 minute drive away in Champaign. From the Virginia Theatre to family attractions like the Orpheum Children’s Science Museum, there are plenty of attractions here for the whole family.

Weather conditions in Thomasboro will vary during the year, creating four distinct seasons. Winters in the area are cold, although compared to other parts of the U.S., snowfall totals are low. Average daily highs reach the mid-30s, so residents will need to invest in a reliable gas or electric furnace to stay comfortable throughout the season. A system with a high AFUE rating will also help to keep winter heating costs manageable.

Summer conditions in Thoamsboro are hot and humid, and at times they may become uncomfortable. This is especially true for residents who don’t have access to a reliable central air conditioner. While average daily highs reach the mid-80s, there are many days in which thermostat readings push into the 90s. HVAC technicians will help residents to stay cool by servicing existing air conditioning units to ensure they work at optimal efficiency.
