About Tolono, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Tolono, Illinois is a small, Champaign County village with about 3,500 residents. The community was founded in the early 1800s and was the product of the southern expansion of the Illinois Central Railroad. Tolono was originally home to many railroad employees, and a later claim to fame occurred when the village welcomed the first Monical’s Pizza restaurant. Today, many residents commute into larger cities for employment, as the community is located only ten miles south of the Champaign-Urbana area.

The Tolono community hosts several events throughout the year, but the most popular is arguably Tolono Fun Days. This weekend festival offers free admission, and it includes a 5K race, parade, movies in the park, games, fireworks, and musical entertainment. Held each June, this event becomes a major source of excitement for locals.

The small village of Tolono may not be home to any major attractions, but there are a few prominent businesses found here. Outdoor lovers might like to spend some time outside at Tolono East Side Park, while visitors in need of lunch or dinner should stop at Monical’s Pizza or the local Subway. Joy’s Wedding Center and Rental also call Tolono home.

Tolono weather conditions vary extensively throughout the year. Summers tend to be humid and hot, with average highs reaching into the upper-80s. There are many days in which thermostat readings of the 90s are possible. During these stifling conditions, central air conditioning will make a dramatic difference for overall comfort. HVAC repair professionals recommend that residents use the cooler spring months to service their existing systems with preventive maintenance efforts.

While an energy-efficient central air conditioner is preferable during the summer, a gas or electric furnace is a necessity during the winter months. Not only will the right furnace keep homes and businesses warm when thermostat readings plummet, but they also help to ensure good air quality. When Tolono residents are stuck indoors during periods of snowfall and freezing temperatures, a reliable home heating system can make a monumental difference in safety and comfort.
